El día de hoy los invito a recorrer la Ciudad de Santo Domingo, Capital de la República Dominicana, Ciudad mas importante del país con aproximadamente 5 millones de habitantes, es conocida por ser el primera Ciudad española en América, fundada en 1496, cuenta dentro de sus atractivos con la primera Catedral y el primer castillo de los Europeos en las Américas, Santo Domingo ademas es la Ciudad mas importante y poblada del caribe, y es reconocida como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Unesco.
En ella encontraras muchos contrastes, entre su gente nativa y extranjera, hacen que esa mixtura los haga únicos, debido a que son personas muy alegres y siempre estén de fiesta, ademas de tomarse la vida muy relajada, también podrás notar infraestructura muy moderna de lo que se jactan los dominicanos, como grandes edificios al borde del mar, que cuentan con helipuertos, ademas de organizar grandes eventos como de música electrónica en los diversos hoteles de la Ciudad, y todo esto contrasta con lugares mas pobres donde puedes verdad el sufrimiento del pueblo, ademas de contar con una importante colonia de sus cercanos vecinos de Haití, sin embargo las megaestructuras la hacen bella, por otro lado dentro de la Ciudad Antigua como le llaman ellos, podrás ubicar como dijimos antes estructuras coloniales de cuando los españoles llegaron por primera vez al continente, como:

En Santo Domingo, podrás encontrar en la Av. Anacaona gran desarrollo en sus alrededores con grandes edificios y centros comerciales, tiendas por departamentos ademas de grandes marcas internacionales, tiene un gran potencial de progreso, la infraestructura vial es de primer nivel, el Aeropuerto esta ubicado a 30 min al este de la Ciudad y esta conectado con un viaducto de kilómetros hasta el centro de la Ciudad, la moneda oficial es el peso dominicano que tiene una tasa de cambio actual de 30 pesos por USD$1 dolar, el costo de un taxi oficial es de USD $20 dolares americanos, y para hospedarse mejor es la parte del centro ubicas hospedajes a todo gusto y precio.
En cuanto al clima en Santo Domingo es tropical, y en temporadas de lluvias y tormentas podrás visualizar huracanes poderosos como Olga que fue muy destructivo en el 2008, por lo regular hace mucho calor llegando a temperaturas de hasta 40 grados, con mucha humedad, y por lo que hacen que sus playas sea una gran opción para disfrutar del mar Caribe,
Los lugares turísticos son abiertos al publico donde podrás pasear por largas horas en el casco antiguo, y el malecón es un lugar imperdible por supuesto para que aproveches el día, o puedas programar algún tour en una localidad cercana, Santo Domingo tiene mucho que ofrecer como ciudad y sin duda no la vas a pasar mal, no todo es Punta Cana cuando recuerdas a República Dominicana como ahí suelen decir, las discotecas y bares son la seguridad esta garantizada ya que son un pueblo muy pacifico y no dejes de probar su gastronomía internacional, tiene muy variada oferta de restaurantes de nivel mundial como las tapas españolas, las pizzas y carnes en el restaurante la Red, los postres ni que decir cuenta con unas pastelerías deliciosas, y los sushis es su mejor especialidad acompañada de una gastronomía local basada en la comida caribeña de patacones, frijoles y carnes con arroz.
