Comenzare este capitulo explicando un poco lo que es la Ciudad Imperial del Cusco, mas conocida antiguamente durante el imperio incaico como el ombligo del mundo, ya que en ella se unían todos los caminos de los dominios incaicos, sus 4 provincias terminaban o comenzaban en este lugar, Cusco es una ciudad empedrada, magnifica, majestuosa, e imperdible, por eso es una de las maravillas modernas del mundo, Cusco tiene un planeamiento urbano y paisajístico de los últimos 700 años como la cuna de una civilización extraordinaria y muy misteriosa además de ser un puma gigante, donde la plaza de armas es la parte central de la figura de un puma,
Cusco en la actualidad es una ciudad de unos 400 mil habitantes, localizada a unos 3800 msnm, con un clima diferente en las dos estaciones marcadas muy frio y lluvioso y muy soleado y frio en las noches la otra parte del año, la ciudad esta influenciada por la cantidad de turistas extranjeros que recorren sus calles, su arquitectura española e inca hacen que la mezcla hace que se parezca en alguna similitud a Florencia de América, además de ser el Cusco la capital arqueológica, los lugares turísticos están por doquier a donde vayas, museos, iglesias, conventos, templos del sol, es una ciudad sumamente cultural, ya sea como eje turístico así como paisajístico, los alrededores de la ciudad hay mucho por ver, el circuito esta bien logrado y la ayuda al turista esta a pedir de la mano.
Cusco es un lugar mágico donde encuentras de todo diversión toda la noche, cultura, arte, historia, arquitectura, arqueología, vestigios de civilizaciones antiguas, es una ciudad completa, encuentras de todo miles de turistas la visitan diariamente, confabulándose para tener una gran experiencia, si tienes opción de comprarlo online tus rutas por tren, y tickets turísticos pues hazlo porque sino puede que te quedes sin lugar, es una ruta muy solicitada,
Por otro lado Cusco se encuentra al extremo sur este del Perú, para llegar a ella tienes varias opciones puedes llegar en un vuelo comercial que dura 1 : 15 minutos por USD139 dólares americanos aproximadamente lo mas recomendado es por Peruvian Airlines ya que no cobra tasas por ser turista extranjero, las otras aerolíneas tienen una tasa de al menos USD100 dólares adicionales, también puedes llegar via terrestre desde cualquier punto del país e incluso desde el extranjero si vienes de Bolivia pero para que tengas una idea desde Lima son 28 horas de viaje,
Para pasarla bien en Cusco yo te recomiendo recorrerla en 4 días, haciendo algo similar a esta sugerencia puedes hacerlo así si tienes corto tiempo para continuar tu viaje, en el día 1 es llegar a la Ciudad por la vía que creas conveniente, no debes ingerir alimento alguno para que no te afecte demasiado la altura recordando que la ciudad esta a 3700 msnm, y dirígete inmediatamente a la Casa de la Cultura y adquiere el boleto turístico que tiene un costo de USD45 dólares, ese boleto te permitirá conocer los principales templos, y lugares importantes como ciudadelas y la fortaleza de Saqsayhuaman que esta a solo 10 minutos del centro de la Ciudad, para ello necesitas contratar además alrededor de la plaza principal encontraras agencias de viajes autorizadas con un valor de USD25 dólares, una vez que obtengas estos tickets contrata además el city tour con un costo de USD10 dólares, este recorrido comienza antes de las 2pm y terminara a las 6:30pm aproximadamente, busca un hotel u hospedaje ubicado en el barrio de San Blas, ya que estarás cerca de todo, por un costo de una habitación doble por USD25 dólares,
El segundo día es para realizar el full day del valle sagrado, donde visitaras las ciudadelas y vestigios mas importantes de la cultura incaica, y las mejores fiestas artesanales, donde podrás compras souvenirs de la zona, y los paisajes del valle del rio Urubamba, donde las locaciones serán de pura magia y vistas que no volverás a ver nuevamente en buen tiempo, sale alrededor de las 8am hasta las 6pm, el tour guía te llevara a un buen restaurante de comida típica del Cusco, pero si quieres evitarlo lleva tus alimentos como agua y sándwiches ya que el costo es alto para un mochilero, pero pasaras un momento muy agradable que recordaras mucho tiempo, siempre llevar ropa cómoda para poder caminar horas de horas, batería recargable para las fotos o cámaras de video y agua, y nunca olvides tu cortaviento encima ya que nunca sabes cuando lloverá o hará mucho frio,
El tercer día muy temprano iras a la estación de trenes de Wanchaq para dirigirte a Macchupicchu, en un recorrido de unas 4 horas, por un costo de USD130 dólares, o si tomas el bus hasta el pueblo de Ollantaytambo, y de ahí haces el Camino del Inca o tomas el tren hacia el pueblo de Macchupicchu, es una decisión importante ya que los caminos te llevan hasta tu destino final en aproximadamente en 3 días, previamente debes haber contratado en una agencia autorizada el guía y los equipos necesarios para tu seguridad, en el centro del Cusco lo encontraras solo asegúrate que sea una agencia oficial, si vas en tren llegaras al pueblo y pasaras todo el día allí, hay mucha interacción con los demás turistas, puedes pasar la tarde en los baños termales, y conseguirás un hotel por USD35 dólares con los servicios básicos para una pareja o dos amigos,
El cuarto día es exclusivo para la ciudadela de Machupicchu desde el alba hasta pasado el medio día ya que recuerda que el santuario cierra a las 3pm, la entrada al santuario es de USD46 dólares, y necesitas un bus desde la parte baja de la montaña que tiene un costo de USD10 dólares, cómpralo todo con anticipación, y bueno ese día es pura recarga energética y positivismo y no te cansaras de tomar fotos, y si te animas puedes ser uno de los 300 que a diario se les permite subir a la montaña colindante del Huayna Pichu, no recomiendo contratar guía sino recorrerlo por uno mismo y tratar de no perderte nada porque no hay una historia verdadera contada sino todo es subreal y supuesto, entonces mejor crea tu propia historia y lo que recuerdes y vivas lo contaras a tu familia y amigos cada momento y sensación.
Luego regresas a Cusco y continuas tu camino a un nuevo destino.
